Firstly let me say that I was on the wrong page…in the wrong book for many months trying to figure out this Online Marketing Thing opting into many Guru mailing lists, trying to work it all out.
Many times I thought I had it sorted only to have the next “Foolproof Strategy” arrive in my Inbox. But the only fool around was me.
Eventually I had a light bulb moment and found the number one reason I was not making money online and I know for sure that it is also why so many other people are not making money online. I don’t care what any of these other Gurus think and say it is – THIS is the real answer.
I believe the single biggest reason people fail to make money online is because there is so much information out there in such a small field (it is small relative to other fields of knowledge), always coming at us from so many directions, that they get overwhelmed, confused, and uncertain about everything.
Not only that but this information overload causes them to jump from one strategy to the next so that before they’re about to make a profit with one strategy, they’ve ditched it and moved on to the next one.
That’s the way it was for me when I started to learn online marketing and I know that’s the way it is for many other people.
And guess what… that’s what they WANT! The more confused you are, the more products you buy to try and un-confuse yourself – the more confused you are, the richer the guru’s are. It’s a never ending cycle.
What to do then? Find a Marketing Strategy that feels right for you, find a strategy that you can become an expert in and then take massive action. Do not be tempted to stray from the strategy you have chosen. Stay with it, work it everyday until. That’s it. Period.
How right you are Mike, information overload is a killer to ambition in our “It Must Happen Now” society buat as you say it takes a while to find that out.

You are so right on this subject. We have been encouraged to create multi-streams of income. Unfortunately, multi-streams create a lack of focus, confusion and failure. There is so much in our emails everyday, enough is enough!! Thanks.
Mike, I’ve recently come to this same realization. The other big key is to find a way to build a targeted list. There is no on going money without the list.
